In 1948, a $10,000 budget wrangled Arnold Friedmand an authentic, custom Frank Lloyd Wright original design featuring 4-bedrooms, 3-baths, a service wing and stable, fronting the Pecos River in New Mexico.  Accordingly, this was above the average new-home sales price of approximately* $7700.  1948 also introduced Americans to the 'pre-fab' home, accommodating to the demands of a post-war housing shortage.
