The owls have died and were buried in neon chevron caskets.
Two years ago (Summer 2011) we introduced a chevron, owl, and Ikat handbag and they were best sellers. Within a year I began to see chevron and owl everywhere, as every designer seemed to make his/her own version of something involving such patterns. I'm positive the trend is dead, or will be in the near future. Neon was quick to come and go and it was fun while it lasted. I still enjoy an interesting Ikat, although I look forward to some fresh patterns this year. I'm currently into solid nudes, neutrals, and pastels, however will be ready for innovative patternwork by Autumn. I'm foreseeing masculine pinstripes, pindots, ticking stripes and mellier plaid. Neutral colorblocking is coming and it would be nice to see that worked into a new textile pattern. It will attractively compliment an extra large Sweet as Pie blush or mint matelasse bag.
